When the rain is blowing in your face

What a beautiful weekend… spring, please stay! But how is it Monday already? Sheesh. Rewind.

On Friday during lunch, I tried a new-to-me class at my gym called yogalates. Obviously, the 45-minute class aims to be a combination of yoga and pilates. I liked it okay, some of the moves I was very good at it, but some of the moves I could not do very well at all. It was an interesting way to view my strengths and weaknesses. It wasn’t my favorite class ever, but I think I’ll try to go on most Fridays. It always feels good to stretch and my abs felt sore after.

After work, Tim and I ate dinner together then we hung out with his roommate and his girlfriend and watched My Cousin Vinny and had a few drinks. I stayed up for the whole movie, I was really proud of myself. We also watched the latest episode of The Following, but I was half asleep and had had a few drinks, so I only have vague recollections of what happened. Also, Tim rolled out my legs for a long time with the stick. It was so painful, but I know it helps.

Saturday was super busy! I was so, so lucky and grateful to get a run in with no calf problems!! Yes, I don’t understand it either, but I won’t question it. The only problem was that I am still very congested, so I did have some trouble breathing. It was wonderful though. I did ten in the morning in my pure cadences and five in the late afternoon in my ghosts. I felt a strange tightness in my foot after my morning run, so that is why I switched shoes. I had no problems in the ghosts, thankfully. My foot is still bothering me today though?

Anyway,Tim & I spent FOUR hours running errands. This included, but was not limited to driving directly to and from Carlisle because someone (not me) forgot to check their farmers’ market schedule, and it wasn’t open. Luckily, we still made it to the one we normally go to.

Most of my day was running and errands, then Tim and I had a drink at Susquehanna Ale House before heading to Arepa City for dinner. We had a $15 gift certificate and it’s BYOB, so it was a relatively cheap date. I was surprised that I really enjoyed my food! I normally struggle with ethnic restaurants. It’s safe to say we’ll be returning.

We finished our wild evening with a drink at Anthony’s before coming home to watch Perks and go to bed. Losing the hour of sleep wasn’t awesome, but I am so glad longer days are coming!

Sunday was filled with the elliptical, errands, cooking, cleaning, a bootcamp class at my gym (ehhh) and finishing Gone Girl with some wine on the porch. That book was intense!

And then Nadya and I watched Dirty Dancing on VH1. I woke up in a bad mood because I didn’t sleep well due to coughing and my foot is still hurting, but I have since decided to not let my whole day be ruined. Let’s hope Monday turns out to be delightful.

  1. WARNING: This comment is going to be a bit long!
Okay, first off- what the HELL is that stick!? I thought it was a cattle prod! You roll it on your legs? What the eff for? Where did you get it? Why does Tim have to do it? Why does it hurt? TELL ME EVERYTHINGGGG!
Are you still eating Paleo? If you are, how is that going? If you aren’t, why did you stop?
I’m shocked you did well at the restaurant! What did you end up eating? Are you still bringing the same lunch every day? Your eating habits are like my fave thing and suddenly I believe you’ve changed them. Sigh.
    Cadences and ghosts? Splain.
BTW are your “foot friends” gone still? I still have one left. :(
THE FOLLOWING OMG. I swear every time that show ends I’m like itching to crawl out of my skin. I can’t handle it. I get so overwhelmed and want the next episode immediately. It’s the highlight of my Monday. Are you loving it? Do you think I’m nuts? Don’t hold prior bad acts against me.
    Can you email at work?

    • OH ALSO!! I love that you’re posting photos with your entries! Can we go back to sharing photos daily?

    • Ah haha, the stick hurts because you are rolling out tight muscles. I make tim do it because he will do it better because its hard to inflict that much pressure on yourself.
I still sort of eat a paleo-vegetarian diet. The only time I really stray off course is when alcohol is involved :)
At Arepa City, I had a slider with mozzerella cheese and fried yucas! I eoyed.
My eating habits are just bizarre, but also boring!
Cadences and ghosts are types of running sneakers made by Brooks!
Foot friends have been GONE since whole30!
omg Love the following! lets go back to pics xoxo
