I drug your ghost across the country and we plotted out my death

Yeah, so it’s freezing out. I really hate winter, I hate the cold, I hate the snow, I hate the ice, blah, blah, blah. I don’t complain about it on Facebook though. Just here. Yesterday morning – and all day actually- was pretty brutal temperature-wise; I could hear the wind whipping around outside of my apartment when my alarm went off for crossfit. Luckily, our coach spared us from being outside and gave us a rowing WOD instead of a running WOD.

Crossfit Endurance
10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 min rows
2 minutes between sets
Pace per 500 meters should get faster each set. After final two-minute row, rest three minutes, then one minute row all-out.

This was intense. Rowing is usually pretty boring, but it’s slightly better with other people. SLIGHTLY better. However, I surprised myself and I actually really enjoyed this workout. I think it’s good to give my body a break from running too, and rowing is just as good, allegedly. I managed to hit all of my prescribed paces, sometimes even going a bit faster. It was funny, after the first row (the ten minute one), our coach said to me “Kelly, your consistently is spot-on. It’s actually bizarre how stable it is”. I think that consistency is thanks to years of being a distance swimmer.

And my “bum” leg is doing okay. It doesn’t really bother me too much. Every once in a while, it feels a little sore, but it’s not bad, all things considered. I’ll be excited to get the stitches out next week, they sure are ugly. It bled a bit yesterday morning. Naturally, I was wearing khakis and I looked down and saw a huge spot of blood. Thank goodness I noticed before I left for work. Returning to the office yesterday after the long weekend was tough. It’s just hard to be positive in such a negative environment. Solider on. It’s already Wednesday!

Great job keeping up even with that busted leg. I would still be on the couch popping pills like it was cool. At least on the bright side, you can walk with a limp and tell a kick ass story.

    • Haha, I honestly think I’d go stir crazy if I was banned to the couch! I’ve been using it as an excuse to have a “drink or two” though ;-) Helps ease the pain.
