Just a picture and a feeling and your face

It was a weekend full of good and bad, but luckily, the good outweighed the bad. I’m still pretty stressed out, so I haven’t been sleeping well. I spent much time staring at the ceiling in the middle of the night or playing countless games of Free Cell on my phone at 4 a.m. this weekend. Deep breath. This too shall pass.

Anyway, Friday was a rainy, gross day, so I did some yoga after work, then went over Tim and Ryan’s house to hang out. We had way too much fun with the drinking mirror app. Despite what all those drinks may be doing to us, it didn’t deter us from indulging.

Now, that’s terrifying. Tim and I also worked on some budget/finance stuff and that was really, really depressing. So, I drowned my sorrows in rum. And fell asleep on the couch at 10 p.m. I’ve decided I’m giving myself until March to find a better-paying job. If I still haven’t, I’m going to temporarily drop crossfit to once a week. It just sucks that these taxes are back, it’s really hurting me. Fingers crossed something comes along soon.

Anyway, Saturday was a warm and foggy morning. I ran 13 miles and change, the last three miles with my friend Gary. It’s nice to have company sometimes. It’s just nice to run.  I love the fact that it’s January and the temperatures are in the 40s. After running and breakfast, I headed to the grocery store. I’m trying to cut back there too. I think I did pretty well, almost everything I picked up was on sale and I didn’t buy anything “just because”. I did really want tortilla chips! I exercised self-control for once in my entire life.

Later that afternoon, a whole crew of us headed to Troeg’s. In a shocking turn of events, I actually found a beer I like there, Dreamweaver Weaver. I had so much fun just hanging out with everyone. We had a great group (Liz, Lauren, Joe, Nadya, Ryan, Tim, Carter and Lloyd) and the afternoon flew by.

Later Saturday night, Katy was my date to Sara’s party. Sara and Andy really outdid themselves, and I more than enjoyed my fair share of wine and cheese. Thanks for having us!

Katy and I spent some time catching up one-on-one (it had been far too long). She has been a really great friend to me especially these past few days, and I am much appreciative. After we had a drink (or two), we headed to Anthony’s and then Arooga’s and ended at McGrath’s. Liz, Shelley, Cathy and Sloane met us there, and I called it a night around 1:30. I love all the time I’ve been able to spend with friends recently. We were all so busy at the end of last year, and it’s so good to have some quality time for some shenanigans again.

After about five minutes of actual sleep Saturday to Sunday, I gave up and headed to the gym. I did an hour of cardio there and an hour of strength/core work at home. I’m trying to be better about incorporating strength into my routine instead of always defaulting to cardio, cardio, cardio. I was really productive for most of Sunday, I got so much cleaning, organizing and laundry done. I love the feeling of having everything together. Lord knows I certainly am not, so it’s nice when my stuff is.

I feel like this weekend didn’t even happen, it went so quickly. Is it Friday yet?

I think it’s Dreamweaver Wheat :) Clearly you’re lacking on sleep…haha. That one’s my favorite too!
